Peatland Restoration Finance in Riau

Riau's degraded peatlands are among the largest single sources of emissions in Indonesia and the origin of recurrent haze episodes. Restoration is funded largely through the state budget and short-cycle donor grants.

The project evaluates cost-effectiveness across restoration modalities and models a longer-dated financing structure combining public capital with results-based payments.
